Becoming a Mountain Leader has opened the door to a new world as an outdoor professional. From my home in the Howgill Fells I am well positioned to travel to the hills and mountains across the UK.
Most of my work is on a freelance basis. I am employed by a number of outdoor organisations who offer guided walks, challenge events & skills courses. I also support & run corporate events and team building days in the outdoors.
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the hills and will always bring a lot to any organisation. I’m always keen to go the extra mile with guests to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable day.
I am very professional when client facing and excellent at interacting with guests, putting them at ease and answering any queries or questions. I prioritise client interaction which is a huge part of the role of a Mountain Leader. I am aware that each organisation has their own specific operating procedures and I will always be sure to work within employers guidelines for every event.
I have full ML kit and can offer spare items to those who may need it including maps & clothing.
I am a registered Director and Course Provider for the Bronze and Silver NNAS Navigation Award Scheme and I hold the NNAS Navigation Tutor Award. I’m a trained DofE Expedition Supervisor, have a valid Outdoor First Aid Certificate, have full public liability insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate.
